The Family Jewels

Surprise!

I found some money in a pocket of a pair of slacks I hadn’t worn for a while. I promptly went out and bought myself a pair of leopard skin yoga pants. *snort*

For some reason, the experience reminded me of a story I read once.

Chickadee

In the over-all scheme of things, I relate to the chickadee more than other fowl (or is that foul?).

Calendar Boy Too

I’m dredging through some aged baggage. That is, I still have boxes of items I’ve been hauling around since… holy crap! That long!?

Contained within these cardboard anchors are old poems, limited attempts to draw, mandatory legal documents, stories of a life long ago lost, more paperclips and Post-It notes than

Mist saturates,

Bonding to dampened grey-green leaf,

Globules shape,

Dripping from a jagged tip,

Moisture collects,

In overflowing sun sparked puddles,

Light glistens,

As puddles drain to meandering

Insecurity

I was slapping paint on walls at an apartment today; a beautiful neutral blasé off-white semi-gloss called Make-Me-Barf. We all gathered for

Calendar Boy

I’m not particularly comfortable in front of a camera. Now I feel like Helen Mirren in Calendar Girls.

Over the years, I have found my true self only by stripping away the brittle, malodorous refuse I had magnetically adhered to my persona.

Sunday morning I felt trepidation as I

Sacrilegious Soul Search

I am either a glutton for punishment or I am an eternal optimist. Either way, it keeps me motivated to see what’s next.

A long time ago in a workshop I was told we should try new things… the stuff you like you keep doing, the stuff you don’t you stop.
